These characters are my Doctor Who/My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic crossover OCs from the fanfic me and my brother wrote when I was ten and he was twelve. I've been thinking about this story lately and I'm not sure why.
It's been quite a while since I drew ponies...also I'm several seasons behind on both shows....
These two sketch pages were done about a month apart.
The Falconress is a young Time Lord (only about 100-200 years old) who fled from the Time War and ended up in Equestria. Her name is the feminine form of "falconer" because my ten-year-old self was obsessed with falconry (which...hasn't changed). Upon crash-landing her TARDIS in Equestria, the Falconress regenerated into a pegasus; she would later end up as a unicorn. Her cutie mark is supposed to represent the Time Vortex.
Fleck is the griffon who found the Falconress when she came to Equestria. He traveled with her for a while, teaching her the ways of friendship and magic and all that, and they eventually became good friends. His empathy, levelheadedness, and caution are a good balance to the Falconress's fiery, temperamental side. His surname was Haliaeetus in the original story, but having a surname doesn't really fit in the MLP world.
Lilica is the griffon who would later end up as Fleck's wife. She's not part of the main cast.
Hephaesta is the Falconress's phoenix companion/BFF. She's named after the Greek god of blacksmiths and volcanoes, and is probably related to Princess Celestia's Philomena. She communicates with the rest of the squad through sign language (formerly a type developed specifically for her by the Falconress and co., but honestly whatever kind griffons typically use would make more sense, so that's what it is now.)
Thal is my favorite thing to come out of this fanfic. He's a Dalek who was corrupted by Equestria's friendship magic and made capable of feeling love. The Falconress hated him for being a Dalek at first, and he hated himself for being a broken Dalek, but thanks to Fleck's optimism, both of them eventually came around, and now Thal is one of their most loyal friends.
Also: a doodle of the squirrel Tippy-toe, from the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. I don't know why she's there. She's not in this story.
